This is my first filmmaking foray into the world of computer hacking. It was supposed to be the first in a web series but I liked the character so much that I decided he needed a bit more room. So, I’m writing a feature about him.
FIDELIS
Fidelis is a psychological thriller about a couple grad students who sign up for a psych test in order to make some extra money for their grad thesis. (Yes, it’s a bit of an homage to Robert Rodriguez’s “Rebel Without A Crew“.)
It’s one of three times Jonathan Schiefer and Santino worked together as filmmakers.
FEDEX: TELEPORTING NINJA
This is a spec commercial, meaning we shot it more as an attempt to show the kinds of things we do rather than to actually make money. In other words, while we use the FedEx name and logo, this video should not be viewed as a representation of what FedEx is or does.
Okay, that part’s done.
Starring: Xander Jeanneret
Introducing: Memi
and: Tyler Randolf as Ninja. He brought the gi and he earned the black-belt he’s wearing.
HOMELESS IN COSTA MESA
We made this short video for a Becks Heyhoe, a member of the Costa Mesa Homeless Task Force. She showed it at a gathering of local churches in order to try and persuade them to work collectively. The meeting was largely successful. It’s also part of the research for our current documentary Homeless (working title).
UPDATE: The city of Costa Mesa and some very passionate activists believe it may be possible to end homelessness on a city-wide scale. In fact, they believe homelessness can be eliminated nationwide. They are running an experiment in Costa Mesa as a test case.
We were documenting it.
However, since we have such a limited crew, we must focus our attentions on projects that have a high likelihood of success in the marketplace. As such, the above video is all that remains of the project.
